Lookout Farm

I took the kids to pick some apples this morning. It was such a perfect fall day, and they had a great time in the orchard.

I probably should have remembered that our oven is broken before bringing home 20 pounds of apples, but we'll figure something out (apple salad? apple jelly? apple sauce?).

To the ducks we go

We went down to the Charles River last weekend and fed some ducks, went for a little hike, found a frog, and generally enjoyed the beautiful day.

Frosting faces

We made cupcakes a few days ago. They vote yes on frosting.

First day of preschool

Today was the first day of school for Ben. We had a bit of a rough start- he had a hard time grasping the idea of wearing socks after a whole summer of no socks, and was feeling really shy when we arrived at school, hiding behind my bag and his hat brim. But after a few minutes we got him digging for worms and he seemed to cheer up enough for us to leave.

Frankie and I took the couple of hours we had to visit the farm, and had a lovely time feeding goats, mooing at cows, and going on a hayride.

Sounds like a pretty fun day to me, though Ben was having another sock-related meltdown when I picked him up. Seems that we may have to get some snazzier socks to really get him onboard by next week.
