ben’s dogwood tree
ben with his great grandpa’s (also ben) dogwood tree brought to boston by grandpa russ and grandma pat
we’ll find a good place at the new house for the dogwood to grow up along with ben
here's our other dog-with-wood for brains. he likes to drop his ball into the leaf pile and then find it.
uncle rick came to visit and finally meet ben!

still not ready to move, but close!
the maple tree and boston ivy show their autumn colors
oh geez what could he be working on now...
tah dah – the vintage glass mailbox and French blue enamel house number
our optimal solar panel roof – flat, white, and unobstructed (except by clouds)!
my brother rick came to help out for a week
we stained a LOT of windows
yes, A LOT of windows
and finished the kitchen cabinets
vintage holophane lights from an old warehouse light up our studio/shop space
the contractor’s awesome table saw...drooool
cassie and zoe come to check out their new home for the first time
zoe quickly found her new favorite spot to sleep.

Let's move already!!!
Powerwashing the studio space:
Let there be lights:
Amazing stairs that Tony built going from the living room to the deck:
Paperstone kitchen counters:
Master bath sink:
The barn door! Tony found it on Craigslist, rented a truck to pick it up in NH. It was then disassembled to get to the second floor, reassembled and hung from hefty reclaimed beams. We still need to extend the bottom, but Ben seems pretty happy with the result, overall.
Almost there... hopefully the next round of photos will be of us moving in!

The view from the top
Work has begun on the top of the firehouse tower; the crazy scaffolding allowed us to see the view from the cupola for the first time.
This is where we will be watching the fireworks from- you can see the Boston skyline from up there!
Tony and Ben look like ants from up there:
Going down is a little bit scarier than going up:
